Sky's Gun-ito
I just finished this for my friend Sky recently. It's a 7'6" x 18 1/2" x 2 1/2" semi-gun. He surfed it in head high Carmel Beach and got barreled on his second wave. He's still waiting on some big waves to see how it really works. It's mostly Paulownia with Redwood pinlines.
Archie's Board
This is a board I made in June of '09 in New Zealand just before we came back to the states. It was for our surfing buddy Archie. We had a lot of fun together surfing the Kaikoura area, Mangamanu and Graveyards among other places.
Again, It's 100% Paulownia wood. I think its 6'0" x 20" or so. Its been awhile and I can't remember exactly. This board has an exaggerated dual concave running the length of the board. Archie is really happy with the board.
First Fish
I am a woodworker and a surfer. For a long time I've been interested in learning about shaping boards, but with a family and a job I'd never made the time. Then a couple of years ago, my wife Nicole got me the Surfer's Path that featured wooden boards and board builders. That got me going, and I became inspired to start making hollow wooden surfboards.
This is my first board. It's a 5'9" twin keel fish. It is all Paulownia Wood. It surfs pretty well and I'm definitely happy with it for the first effort. This was made while living in New Zealand in early '09.
